no eerie, i never used cunt towards you did i? to be honest, apart from chuck liddell, i didn't give the ufc much attention at all before i started watching rogan's podcasts. im a boxing fan, but even i can appreciate how hard a game the ufc is, but you can keep the performing chimpanzees like mcgregor, even if millions idolize them

I am a huge boxing fan but UFC have done an amazing job turning a 2 million dollar business into 4 billion in 16 years. I don’t quite think the pikey Irish cunt is behind all of that growth.
Although it’s been a good year for boxing, the sport needs to learn two very important things which ufc get right and are streets ahead of boxing in this regard. The first is consistently making the big fights, getting the best in with the best. The second is the standard and corruption of referring - boxing is rotten to the core in this regard at all levels.

Hermit, I make your first paragraph spot on. Disagree with the second. But I'm not a massive MMA fan and I'm never gonna change your mind anyway so it doesn't matter.
TM, I agree. Its classless. All I'm saying is that it sells. And that's all it comes down to. That's why people who've never heard of anyone you mention (trust me, there are a few) know all about Mike Tyson, for example. The same sort of mongs who pay to watch UFC cos of McGregor making a show of himself 20 years ago would have been paying to watch boxing cos Tyson was saying he was gonna eat Lewis's children.

Even with boxing you get all the staged beefs and trash talk beforehand and like it or not, and I don’t like it much, it sells tickets. I don’t begrudge fighters their earnings in what is a brutal sport so I don’t mind them doing what they have to do to sell fights.
UFC though is really, really boring and a tad gay, so take away McGregor’s ability to gain exposure outside of the small world of MMA, and your revenue drops massively. That fight was the first MMA I’ve ever watched live, I don’t think I’ll be bothering again for a while. They sold it well though.

mashed, it's beyond hype and conventional trash talk when the pikey starts being personal about the bloke's parents, religion and race. there was also the bus incident, that may have been a staged event, but is still shameful with him throwing things through a bus window full of khabib's team, while accompanied by his entourage of hanger ons. everything that happened post fight was spot on, i just wish khabib and his pals had hit them harder

Choice for the UFC:-
Go back to the days of "respect", no trash talking, handshakes and complementing your opponent to appeal to purists = $
Keep Conor, the trash talking, the hype, the publicity, if anything turn it all up to appeal to the masses = $$$$$$$$$$$
There are many other MMA promotions that mostly keep everything respectful and no fuckers heard of them. Same with kickboxing. Just how it is.

The only reason they earned more than 10k each for that fight was because McGregor sells fights and sells them with his mouth. He brings it to a new audience who aren’t that interested in MMA as it is. Without those, the paying fans would be limited to a few latent homosexuals with a fetish for seeing half-naked men role around on the floor.
